2.5 – 3 hr Trip

We suggest a ratio of 1-2 anglers per guide, but do allow 3 anglers on peak season trips. This does mean that each angler will receive much less of guide’s time and some compromises will need to be made in terms of angling locations, since many fisheries are not suited to three clients in small areas. This is especially true of waters suited to experienced anglers. Beginner trips for three clients are generally fine.

The hike & wade fly-fishing trip starts by meeting a customer at the desired location around 6:00 a.m. We’ll gear-up and head out to the location for fishing on the North Umpqua River. Typical drive times range from an hour to about one and a half hour. After parking we hike from about 30 minutes to about an hour. The guide will give instructions on casting, and the customers will need to practice for at least half an hour, if the customer didn’t have casting instruction beforehand.

On full day excursions, the guide brings a hearty riverside lunch, refreshments and about 6-7 hours of hiking and fishing. While on half days we provide light snacks and drinks during your 4 hours of fishing.  On all fly-fishing trips the customers will gain plenty of local knowledge about the water, hatches and techniques not to mention continually covering new water and fish.

What’s included: Our full and half day trips include everything – guide, travel from Roseburg area to and from river, rod/reel, terminal tackle and flies.

What’s not included: Oregon fishing license, waders (we offer rentals), transportation to and from Roseburg, and gratuities.

*Reservation/cancellation Policy – All trips are refundable if cancelled 14 days prior to the trip departure date or may be rolled over to a future trip with in one year of date booked.
